Join me as I navigate through my love for Olympic Weightlifting, Flexible Dieting and Life

Q: What website/app do you use to track you calories? And is it free?

A: I use My Fitness Pal app, and yes it is free to use the basics. I now use the Premium version which easily allows to set your macro goals in grams and different macros for different days (i.e. high/low days) and is now I believe $50/year. It knows my history so to me it is worth it. It has huge database for food items including restaurants. I definitely recommend it. Add me at @thejohanapat.

Q: What was your starting weight?

A: About 180 lbs on about January 10, 2010

Q: What is current weight?

A: As of January 2018 about 157lbs. Working on fixing this metabolic adaptation I have going and reversing the unintended, yet controlled, weight gain that happened post op.

Q: How tall are you?

A: Almost 5’4” 🙂

Q: How did you lose the weight so far? What’s your secret?

A: No secret. The initial weightloss I had was mainly watching my caloric intake and made time for exercise, mainly circuit training. Then I discovered Paleo and CrossFit and lost a tiny bit more. Now, my training is a lot more regimented and harder than it ever has (Weightlifting) been and in the world of flexible dieting as Paleo had no longer been working for me for the last four years.

Q: What do you do for exercise?

A: For the last two years I have dedicated my training to Olympic Weightlifting as a -63kg lifter with a side of CrossFit, and I love it.

I do however venture outside the gym when I can by going on trails, hiking, swimming, etc.

Q: What do you do for work?

A: Currently, I am the digital media marketing strategist for a large car electronics company and doing great.
