It FINALLY happened and unexpectedly so – I got not only my first but second (this video) Bar Muscle Up!! And then…I got SIX more during the 12 Days of Xmas WOD we did on Christmas Eve. So stoked!! I did not see this coming. I was ready to scale this part of the WOD until one of the coaches said I should just give it a try and I did it! At the top I was like WHOA DID THAT JUST FUCKIN HAPPEN?!?! Haha. Love it.

Couple weeks ago I finally hit a 125lb/57kg snatch! It helps to look back and see how far I’ve come over these last few months. Just nearly 4 months ago my 1RM snatch was 105lbs and it felt heavy as shit back then. Excited for what’s to come from The Outlaw Way!

An unexpected clean and jerk pr at 72.5kg/160lbs (10lb pr)! Yes…I know I caught it high, back rounded a bit, didn’t drive under it enough and pressed out at end of jerk – but I’m still stoked! I have things to work on, such as working on getting under the bar faster and catching it lower so that I can pull more weight and get under it. Same with the jerk, I need to pull myself under faster and lower, let the weight push me down versus fighting the bar. Following The Outlaw Way has helped a ton in reaching some of my training goals – key is to stick to a program, don’t go program hopping just because you get bored or too hard.

I’ve mentioned before that I hate taking and posting progress pics. Mainly because for the longest time, I saw little to no results. And I was ashamed. As I go down this road, putting my trust in a method so vastly different than conventional, I am realizing the importance of progress pictures so much more. …
